Cedar City, Utah, February 6, 2019-

Kaylor Smith, a Senior at Southern Utah University, has been selling pest control services door to door for the past 3 years. He has spent his summers knocking doors in Columbus Ohio, San Antonio Texas, Nashville Tennessee, and will be spending the summer of 2019 in Houston Texas. Kaylor has been able to apply himself  and gain the skills necessary to become a manager at the company he sells for, Aptive Environmental. As part of his responsibilities as a manager, he has been working to recruit and train his own team of 25 people to sell with him in Houston Texas.

Kaylor has dedicated much of his time to the recruiting and training process of his team. He began the process of recruiting by reaching out to a few of his recruits from his previous team that solid during the summer of 2018 in Nashville, TN. From there, Kaylor has worked through his own personal network and created incentive programs to motivate already committed reps to recruit their friends. After pitching potential recruits on the idea of selling pest control for the summer, Kaylor would follow up with them, resolve their questions/concerns and have them sign a contract, solidifying their commitment to sell in Houston TX. Kaylor has planned activities for his recruits with a goal to build unity within the team. Much of his time has been spent creating training programs to insure that his team will have a successful summer, in order to help them achieve their financial goals. Since beginning the team building process, Kaylor has recruited/trained 17 people and plans to recruit 8 more for the summer.

His motivation to take on such a task is to achieve his financial goals and assist his recruits in reaching their goals as well. Learning much from this experience, Kaylor looks forward to the leadership abilities he will continue to develop as the summer begins.
